    Position Description

    Job Purpose: 

    To provide exceptional customer service to golf patrons by greeting customers as they arrive at the starters’ station, being friendly and courteous, maintaining constant communication with the golf shop to keep the starter’s sheet updated, and monitor play on the golf course as scheduled. 

    Job Responsibilities: 

    • Display good customer relation skills and take initiative to greet guests in a friendly manner.
    • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions to management; complete safety training and certifications.
    • Ensure uniform and appearance is clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
    • Check with golf shop for any unusual groups, cart traffic rules for the day and pick up the starter’s sheet.
    • Check each player’s receipt against starter sheet, record cart number assigned and initial receipt.
    • Inform all players of the course rules and cart regulations (yardage markers measured to center of green, color coded pin placements, pace of play on scorecard, & cart rules for the day).
    • Inform players when beverage cart service is available and the location of turn service.
    • Keep groups teeing off in a timely manner (10 minute intervals) and combine singles and twosomes when possible.
    • Assist players with maintaining pace of play.  Periodically, check cart numbers with the starter to monitor players’ pace of play.
    • Maintain a check of water level in coolers on golf course and check that ball washers are functional.
    • Assist with picking up trash, bottles, and cans from the course.  Advise the turf care of any full trash cans that you observe.
    • Complete the ranger report and turn in to the golf shop when shift is finished.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Job Skills:

    • Ability to speak clearly, listen carefully, and use personal judgment to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers and the general public.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Must be flexible and adapt to situations that do not follow standard operating procedures.
    • Ability to multi-task.

    Job Qualifications: 

    Experience    

    • Minimum three (3) months retail or customer service experience.
